VACCINATION POLICY

To protect our patients, their families as well as our doctors and staff, we will be requiring all of our patients to be vaccinated and kept up to date on the rabies vaccine unless medically advised not to do so. Additionally, we will continue to recommend that our patients are vaccinated for core pathogens they may be exposed to.

What is rabies?

Rabies is a preventable viral disease that can spread to people and pets, most often transmitted through the bite of rabid animals. The rabies virus infects the central nervous system of mammals, causing disease in the brain that ultimately leads to death. In Oregon, dogs over the age of 6 months are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies. Furthermore, there are twice as many cats cases as dogs reported each year which necessitates their need for vaccination against this deadly virus.
We value your trust and will continue to provide quality service to both you and your pets!
